Meet Houston Good Guy: Lowell Morrison

Before he became an official Good Guy, Lowell Morrison’s pickup truck sat many days parked in his driveway. When he became a part-time PICKUP Good Guy in Houston, the pickup’s idol days were over.

“It’s a great way to be more active in the community and use my truck more,” Lowell said. As a full-time freight broker, Lowell connects shippers with the proper equipment and delivery professionals they need. That means he knows just how important for items you need moved to be safe – and done right. He applies this mentality to every PICKUP call he receives.

Lowell’s favorite part of being a Good Guy isn’t the deliveries; it’s the people he is able to help. “Every call for a PICKUP is different, so you never know what is going to happen or who you’re going to meet next. I’ve had the opportunity to come across so many great people I would’ve never encountered if I wasn’t a PICKUP Good Guy,” he said. No matter what the item, Lowell strives to make their experience positive by going above and beyond just moving things.

“I got a call to move a large bookshelf for a woman here in Houston. While I was moving the furniture, a lot of dust stirred up and it was getting all over the place. That’s when this sweet lady handed me some Pledge and a dust cloth and started pointing out places she couldn’t reach that needed to be dusted. So, I dusted things in rooms all over her house,” he said. “That’s why I love being a PICKUP Good Guy – I get to help people every day. Some of the things may seem small or silly, but it meant a lot to that woman and that is all that matters to me.”

Lowell is never one to back down from a challenge, whether its dusting or delivering a couch. “Everyone at PICKUP has the same mentality. We are a hardworking team that gets the job done right,” he said. “I take pride in being a PICKUP Good Guy. We go through such an extensive amount of onboarding and background checks, we wouldn’t do that if we didn’t think it was important that you be trust us,” Lowell said.
